I have known a family who, as a routine, took the child out for a drive while she ate her evening meal and another who kept collecting coins as the price for eating.
Both children were a picture of health and were obviously enjoying their power and control over their parents.
Some mothers promise to buy toys and shoes or a visit to the zoo if only the child would eat. Most of these promises remain unfulfilled so the child loses his trust in his mother and becomes a difficult eater.
